Helge Harding is a 1st prize winner of the European Young Soloist Competition in Luxembourg. He received his training as a clarinettist and conductor at the Music Academies of Detmold, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Masterclasses with Sabine Meyer, Karl Leister, Eddie Daniels, Giora Feidman and Michael Riessler provided additional impulses. Special recognition was given to his clarinet playing by Sir Yehudi Menuhin.

His versatile engagements have included performances as a soloist in large venues such as the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, as a chamber musician at the Vogler Spring Festival in Sligo, Ireland, as a principal clarinettist in various symphonic and opera orchestras, as well as an ensemble membership in the Musikfabrik, a specialized ensemble for contemporary music.

He participated in CD productions including the Ensemble Modern ('Roaring Eisler' / Sony-BMG) as well as a DVD production of the Frankfurt Opera ('Wozzeck' / ZDF-arte).

Helge has extensive teaching experience at various institutions. He is a senior lecturer for clarinet at the UdK Berlin and teaches students in the Music Education Programs, sound engineers as well as at the Jazz-Institute-Berlin (JIB). At the public music school 'Fanny Hensel' Berlin-Mitte he mainly teaches in the gifted and pre-college programs and in his private studio focuses on international students and ambitious amateurs.
